DIY Christmas Cookies in a Jar

petrapointer1

I've made cookie mix in a jar in the past for family and friends. It's fun to make, and a lovely gift to receive, and you can reuse the jar, win win.

It is such an easy thing to do, and has definitely grown in popularity over the last decade. You can't really go wrong with this idea. Just layer all of the dry ingredients, include a recipe with the jar and decorate your gift how you like.

If you have children making one for a Grandparent you could give your children some paint pens suitable for glass. It gives your children a Christmas activity, and results in a thoughtful gift for a loved one.

These Acrylic paint pens are some of the best I've found. It pays to shop around as unfortunately, as crafting has grown ever more popular, so have the prices of crafting material.

These pens are great for using with painting on, glass, rocks, pebbles, wood, metal, ceramic, canvas, fabric, plastic and stone. The tips are reversable, you can pull it out and replace it with the other end, the chisel tip. The chisel side helps with fine line drawing, larger area filling and glitter glitter pens highlighting.

They are non-toxic, odourless and acid-free. Best to tell your recipient to not put the jar in the dishwasher.

This is just an idea. You can really go to town on your creation and make it your own.

If you love this idea, bit simply don't have the time to gather all of the things you need I've got you covered in my next post. Baked In have just launched a Brand new 'Cookie in a Bottle' range.
